Plan to join us for this brief, informative & educational webinar to learn about the impact Covid-19 has had on neurologic abnormalities and how EEG is superior to imaging for this patient population.

In this 25-minute webinar Dr. Dona Kim Murphey, physician scientist and Director of Scientific Affairs for CortiCare, will present current information on the impact the pandemic has had and how the EEG is the superior tool in identifying changes from COVID-19 related encephalopathy.

Having herself become a COVID-19 “long hauler”, Dr. Murphey, has been engaged nationally in educating, organizing, and advocating on this issue, and public consciousness is growing that this disease may have acute and chronic neurological manifestations.

Reports from Wuhan and Lombardy early in this pandemic indicated that COVID-19 has a significant impact on the brain. In the acute period of SARS-CoV-2 infection, 34.6 % patients were observed to have neurological symptoms including stroke, headache, and seizures.

Presenter:   Dr. Dona Kim Murphey

Dr. Murphey completed her M.D. / Ph.D. and fellowship in clinical neurophysiology (EEG / epilepsy) at Baylor College of Medicine and undergraduate degree at Harvard. She served as Medical and Scientific Director at CortiCare for three years and continues to support the commercialization of diagnostic algorithms and the growth of our clinical trials unit.
